Uncommon Wisdom: Lubomira Basheva

“Uncommon Wisdom” is about sharing those habits or stories that we wouldn’t normally think to share. There’s so much talk about morning routines and self-care practices these days but a lot of it can seem kind of superficial or maybe just predictable and repetitive.

This is why we asked a bunch of high-performing creatives and entrepreneurs a few questions about awareness, energy, and productivity. We wanted to learn something a bit more unexpected, and here’s what we found out.

Who is Lubomira Basheva?

Lubomira Basheva is a 24-year-old girl from Bulgaria who describes herself as someone who’s in love with the beauty of life. She’s an actress who feels lucky to be practicing her profession. She has starred in 2 feature films, 3 series, and is currently rehearsing for a play. She loves the coziness of home and delicious food. Buba says she is always working towards bringing more balance and harmony into her life.

#1. What's something unexpected or uncommon that made you more aware?

I’ve always known I’m a little naive. I used to think that if my intentions are pure, then so are other people’s. Which turned out to be untrue. Two years ago I had a series of events happen to me with a person I trusted wholeheartedly. (It wasn’t a romantic kind of relationship.)

I was completely manipulated and it felt like I lost myself… I felt hate towards myself at some point. It took me 2 years to get over what had happened. I finally managed to return to my “old self”, but an upgraded version. The cliché “everything happens for a reason” definitely proved itself. Since then, I’ve been expressing gratitude every single day for everything I have in my life.

#2. What's something unexpected or uncommon that gives you energy?

The feeling of coziness is what gives me energy the most. I adore being at home with a glass of wine, a candle burning, and the record player on. I also love watching a series or reading a book. It brings me such fulfilment to visit places which recreate this homey cozy feeling and have beautiful details.

#3. What's something unexpected or uncommon that makes you more productive?

I feel productive when my body and mind are in sync. Because they are interconnected, I try to take care of both. I love moving, doing sport, and taking time just for myself. I like resting and I also feel very inspired and motivated when I interact with interesting people who know what they want!

#4. What does your morning ritual look like?

My morning routine starts with me feeling well rested. It really depends on the period (whether it’s a busier or a more free one) I’m in. But my day always begins with a cup of coffee!

When I’m not working, I drink my coffee for 2 hours during which I plan my day. I also use that time for social media where I try to stay active within measure. Afterwards I work out, do chores around the house, and get some more tedious tasks done and out of the way. I connect with my loved ones and just enjoy having this free time.

When I’m rehearsing or shooting, my day typically starts very early and is entirely focused on that.

#5. What does your evening ritual look like?

Regardless of the kind of day I’ve had, I always like to end it with some good food. I also take 10 minutes in the evening to spend with myself and reflect on everything that happened during my day. I think about what made me feel good or bad. Then I analyze what (and how) I can change if I wasn’t content with something, or if I was, I still think about how I can further improve things. Based on this, I create my goals for tomorrow. My evening ends with a glass of wine, my loved one, and a favorite series.
