“Uncommon Wisdom” is about sharing those habits or stories that we wouldn’t normally think to share. There’s so much talk about morning routines and self-care practices these days but a lot of it can seem kind of superficial or maybe just predictable and repetitive.
This is why we asked a bunch of high-performing creatives and entrepreneurs a few questions about awareness, energy, and productivity. We wanted to learn something a bit more unexpected, and here’s what we found out.
Who is Mila Robert?
Europe-based Mila Robert has a voice that leaves a lasting impression. Being a multidisciplinary artist, she loves to sing, produce, act, paint, and write. Experimenting with different genres and styles, Mila is the kind of person who stands out in any crowd, and is currently responsible for giving a voice to a whole generation of Bulgarian youth.
#1. What's something unexpected or uncommon that made you more aware?
My ego stepping in, and me totally losing my cool. Mistakes have been my best teachers as they always shift my path so beautifully. Maybe that’s not that uncommon, it is a bit of a cliché, but so is everything. Everything is everything.
#2. What's something unexpected or uncommon that gives you energy?
Mostly living things give me energy, but music and musical instruments can make me feel so electric. That’s the reason I can’t do anything else but music in this sweet life of mine.
#3. What's something unexpected or uncommon that makes you more productive?
My anxious mind makes me more productive. When I feel blue, I need to do things! Otherwise I’ll feel even worse.
#4. What does your morning ritual look like?
I wake up around 8 or 9am, it depends on how early I went to bed. I enjoy the sweet bass of my alarm which is “Your New Morning Alarm” by Marc Rebillet, and I dance to it in bed. Before I seriously open my eyes I set my intention for the day and express my gratitude. I try not to grab my phone immediately after waking up. I usually put Jazz FM on and start getting ready.
This has been my morning routine for the past couple of weeks, but I’m not that consistent with routines. However, I do believe that setting your intention and expressing gratitude before even opening your eyes are crucial practices, and l’d love to stick to them for the rest of my life.
#5. What does your evening ritual look like?
My best case scenario is coming home and cooking up something healthy and delicious, while listening to a podcast or music. Then I will eat while watching YouTube.
After that, I would normally do my singing practice and play the guitar for a while. Maybe I’ll open Ableton and make a track. To finish the evening off, I will light some candles and incense which fill the room with a wonderful scent. I end the night with some chill time when I just do whatever.
