Uncommon Wisdom: Vali Blue

“Uncommon Wisdom” is about sharing those habits or stories that we wouldn’t normally think to share. There’s so much talk about morning routines and self-care practices these days but a lot of it can seem kind of superficial or maybe just predictable and repetitive.

This is why we asked a bunch of high-performing creatives and entrepreneurs a few questions about awareness, energy, and productivity. We wanted to learn something a bit more unexpected, and here’s what we found out.

Who is Vali Blue?

Valentina Neytcheva’s education is in food technology and over the past 8 years she has specialised in plant-based kitchen. She describers her approach as completely spontaneous and she loves creating healthy, delicious dishes from scratch. Valentina was a part of one of the fastest growing plant-based restaurants in Sofia, Bulgaria, and is currently exploring ways to reach as many people as possible in order to share her passion for making tasty, easy, and healthy plant-based food.

#1. What's something unexpected or uncommon that made you more aware?

Fasting! A simple fasting back in 2013 made me realize that all my food choices directly reflect my state of mind and body. This is what started my spark to begin creating and experimenting with food. If my believe is “I am what I eat”, then I want to be pure energy.

#2. What's something unexpected or uncommon that gives you energy?

Most people have their goals or targets in mind. That’s not me! I’m completely chaotic, but in an organized manner. Let’s say I need to cook for 30 people for a number of days. I don’t create a menu! I simply go in the kitchen and move with the flow. Usually the outcome is very positive. I know it’s not optimal, but in my field this is what productivity means to me – an organized chaos.

#3. What's something unexpected or uncommon that makes you more productive?

A spark! It might be an idea, a person or an event. Something upcoming, it’s like waiting for your summer vacation. This is what ignites my fire and gives me energy to expand my vision and start creating. To be able to add value and make people smile. To see and enjoy the end result.

#4. What does your morning ritual look like?

My perfect morning routine would be to be alone and have some time for myself. Music, listening to my own thoughts in a quiet place, and moving my body through exercise or dance.

In reality I have 2 children and my morning is focused around making breakfast and getting the kids ready. Occasionally I will wake up a couple of hours earlier and have my morning routine in peace.

#5. What does your evening ritual look like?

Usually I prepare dinner with the help of my kiddos and husband and try to get us all together for some family time after a crazy day. We relax and play games, we draw dinosaurs, we just have fun! Once everyone is in bed, my time comes. I write new recipes with a cup of tea. After that I take a hot shower and enjoy a nice book in bed.
